The installation POWIĄZANI/NIE (Tied)
The installation POWIĄZANI/NIE (Tied) was created by Dawid Soszyński and 40 residents of various Wieprz River villages, who donated their contributions (i.e. their own clothes) to the work. Each clothes is signed with the locality and the name of a particular person living along that river. The form refers directly to the traditional presence of people on the water. So is the message, which on the one hand is a manifestation of the residents' ties to the river and, on the other, of the connections the river provides to all the localities throughout its more than 300 kilometers of length. But it can also be a question about the strength and specificity of people's relationship with the river - especially if we juxtapose it with the situation from even 30 to 40 years ago, when you could really see laundry drying on the Wieprz.
The installation "dried" on the river for six months (from summer to autumn 2022), intriguing kayakers, anglers and hikers. But the continuation will follow...
